Tabula, handcrafted wooden roman board game, the ancient backgammon
The board game is crafted down to the finest detail, in fact it’s made in etched wood and marquetry. It’s supplied with:
– roman ceramic dice cup reproduction
– disk-shaped pieces decorated with incised concentric circles in aged silver and bronze plated
– three bone dice
The case contains a leaflet telling the story of the game, the rules and an image from texts, paintings or graffiti of the same period. The recreations of the playing rules are as close as possible to the ancient ones, acquired from the famous match played by Zeno emperor.
Measures 25 x 45 x 2 cm; game pieces 2 cm approx.
